About this album
Martin Vatter about his new album:
"What inspired me to make this CD":
The Corona pandemic made me realize how fragile all our supposedly taken-for-granted values are. Who would have thought a year ago that we would be hit by a pandemic of this magnitude, that schools, day-care centers, stores and companies would have to be closed, that many people would have almost no possibility of earning money anymore and would therefore be dependent on state aid. Existences and life works were and are destroyed thereby and our liberty is limited on the part of the state, as never in the decades before.
Since I wanted to produce this for me important CD in the Lockdown absolutely, recordings in the studio however in these times were not possible, I decided to record my pieces composed particularly for these heavy times with me at home.
With my compositions I would like to give courage and hope, but also to make people think.
I hope that many people will experience soulful moments while listening to my music and draw new strength and confidence."
About the pianist:
Since 1994 the pianist Martin Vatter has published numerous CD productions which were acclaimed in the music press many times. He was portrayed on Bavarian television and on Bavarian radio. His compositions are stylistically located between Keith Jarrett, Tord Gustavsen and Ludovico Einaudi, but also contain many classical elements and therefore they do not fit into any category of genre.
